A New Routine

5am.
That's my new wake up time. I'm two weeks into an 8 week boot camp that meets at a time in the morning when my REM was just getting really good.

The alarm goes off and I scurry out of bed for fear of the beeping waking the baby. Blearily dress and brush teeth by the dawn of the iGlow. Lace my Pumped Up Kicks and steal out the door just as the sunshine is breaking. Imagine as I unlock my car that I probably look like a hobo-turned-criminal with my hoodie up and the inevitable attempt to enter the car with the wrong key.
I spend the ten minute ride both cursing myself for getting out of bed and being enormously proud of my efforts. Arrive at the gym, deep breath before getting out of the car. I feel like a Foster Farms chicken every time I open the door- crayoned robots and sippy cups falling out into the parking lot. But by now I'm teetering on the edge of late and the only thing worse than running the 5 laps first thing is running them alone while the rest of the 5am boot camp crazies watch.

40 minutes and a bucket of sweat later I'm back driving home. Sore in a different place every day. This particular moment, my armpits ache Home, shower, dress and finish just before I would have normally gotten up.

Its 7am and I consider napping.

It's my new routine and I'm loving it.
