A-girl Braun has arrived!!!

She made it (and so did I!)

It is our pleasure to introduce the A-girl Braun. Born Tuesday June 17, 2008 at 11:48a.m. weighing in at a respectable 9lbs 8oz and 21 inches.

I'll share the story of how we met our little A-girl soon- long story short, she ended up being born via C-section, so I'm still recovering. Thankfully she is an incredible baby- so gentle and patient and happy to just be with people and be held! We love her so much already.

Here are a few more pictures for your enjoyment...

Hope you can come and visit the newest member of the Braun family soon!!!

Doctor Update

Alright- doctor appointment number 47 this morning and not much to report. After a week of walking, sitting on the exercise ball and... umm... other methods of induction, I'm dialated to a 2 and only 50% effaced. Baby was too high for her to even strip my membranes- grr! So we've decided on starting an induction next Thursday.
I know that I've known that the baby is coming, but the fact that Nick and I will officially be parents within a week at most is intimidating and amazing.
Any last well wishes or advice for the impeding parents-to-be?

Eviction Notice

Today is my "official" due date, so I'm presenting the baby with an eviction notice. Think it'll work? (And no, that is not my belly!)

The Little Things...

Best moment of my life yesterday came in the form of this sign...
I was attempting to make a quick stop at the Mission Viejo Mall at around 1:00 yesterday afternoon for a friend's wedding present, and there was absolutely NO PARKING. Well, at least no parking that I was willing to hike in from. Honestly, I have gotten better parking at the mall on Saturday, which I suppose says something about Mission Viejo. Not even my "the only thing I learned at Saddleback College is how to stalk people to get a parking spot" was helping.
At any rate, I circled the ENTIRE mall twice before I saw this beautiful, wonderful "Expectant Mothers" parking sign. It's something I would have scoffed at and probably mocked before I was 9 months 3 weeks pregnant looking for a parking spot! I pulled in, and almost wished that there was someone watching me just so they could judge me from their car, and then see me clammer out of the car with this HUGE belly to lug around. Alas, no one was there to witness the greatness that was this spot. They were probably all circling around the mall, hungry and looking for a place to park!
I know I've promised a picture of myself and the unbelievable ginormusness that is consuming me, but there are a few reasons this has yet to happen...
1. I'm frightened of seeing through the honest eye of a camera what I look like to the outside world.
2. The camera and all its accessories are packed in the hospital bag. Packing the hospital bag was Nick's job, and he waited MUCH longer than I would have liked, so I can only imagine his response if I get into the bag and rearrange or unpack something after nagging him so much to get it packed.
So, we'll see if I can muster the courage to sneak the camera out of the bag, take a picture, and actually post it.

No Baby Yet!

39 weeks today and no baby yet! I am getting a ton of stuff done around the house and being the errand queen, so I think I have another week or so before I get anxious. I'm afraid to get everything done on the Baby To-Do list because I'm sure my labor will start within minutes, but I'm also afraid to NOT have everything done and still go into labor.
At any rate, think happy thoughts for us!
